Exhibition opening: “Sour Grapes” by Hillel Zhenwirth

19:00 h
11 Oct

Hillel Zhenwirth is an artist living and working in Tel Aviv. His father, Jacob Zhenwirth, was born in Krakow in 1932 and had to flee Poland with his family at the outbreak of WWII. "Sour Grapes" is a look at Hillel’s experience as a second generation Holocaust survivor. In the artist’s own words, “[I am] very much a product of what my father has experienced in the war, and this is also true of many others who still bear the scars of what their fathers and mothers have gone through... Because of my Jewish Polish roots, exhibiting my paintings in Poland presents an opportunity to me to “close the circle,” to heal the scars.”

Free admission.
